How it works
Orrery is a modular synthesizer on a canvas. Modules send three kinds of signal to each other, and you can see all of them.
Drop modules
Pick clocks, sequencers, voices, effects and modulators from the Rack. Each is a circle; its rings are its dials.
Wire them
● to ○ carries notes and pulses, ■ to □ carries sound, and ◆ onto any dial modulates it. Every pulse travels visibly down its wire.
Press play
Clocks fire, sequencers and chord modules pick notes in the current key, and voices sound them. Nothing needs playing by hand.
Let it evolve
Probability, slow modulation, scenes that morph the whole patch, and key changes keep it moving for minutes or for hours.
What's in the Rack
Around seventy modules, from the basics to Eurorack favourites, and you can add your own.
Time
Clock with swing and seven divisions, Pulsar, Divider, Clock Mult, and Phrase pulses every 1, 4, 8 and 16 bars.
Sequence
Ring Seq, Euclid, a Turing machine, Marbles with déjà vu, and Grids, which morphs between drum patterns.
Harmony
Key sets the scale for the whole patch. Chord builds progressions and arpeggios, and Snap bends any note onto chord tones.
Logic
Chance, Walker, Repeater, Switcher, Gate, Burst, Groove and AND, OR, XOR and flip-flop logic.
Voices
A fully shapeable synth with unison, Drone, an acid bass line voice, a plucked String and Cloud, a granular voice for any sample.
Drums & samples
Three synthesised drum packs, and a sampler that plays any audio as a one-shot, a pitched instrument, a loop or a slicer.
Generate
Rain scatters notes, Orbits plays planets as they pass the top of their orbits, and Growth grows a melody like a vine.
Modulation
LFO, Envelope, Random, Macro, Follower, Function, S&H, Slew, Comparator and CV Mix. Any output onto any dial.
Effects
Seventeen effects including Tape, Freeze, Shimmer and Wavefolder, plus Ducker, Stutter, Looper, Resonator and a low-pass gate.
